Become a Contestant

The 2012 Miss District of Columbia Pageant will take place in late June or early July 2012 (date to be determined soon). Please read the eligibility requirements carefully in order to ensure that you are eligible for this year’s competition.

There is no entry fee to compete in the Miss DC Pageant. The winner and two runners-up will receive academic scholarships. Miss DC 2012 will represent the District of Columbia in the 2013 Miss America Pageant and will serve the Washington, D.C. community throughout the year, as a goodwill ambassador and promoter of various civic and philanthropic efforts.

Information Session

An information session for prospective contestants will take place on January 28, 2012, 2:00-4:00 P.M., at The Institute of World Politics, 1521 16th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. Attendance at this session does not obligate one to compete. Attendance is strongly encouraged for all prospective contestants. Please RSVP for the meeting by e-mailing missdcamerica@aol.com.

Auditions

The Miss District of Columbia Organization conducts auditions in talent and interview to determine its contestants. Auditions will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012. More information about the auditions will be given at the aforementioned information session. Only those who successfully complete the auditions will be permitted to compete in the pageant.

Paperwork

Those young women who audition for this year’s pageant must complete a preliminary fact sheet: Preliminary Fact Sheet 2012 These completed fact sheets must be e-mailed to katielbridges926@yahoo.com by no later than March 10, 2012 in order to be accepted for an audition.

In addition, all young women who audition on March 17 MUST bring the completed Eligibility Checklist with them to the auditions. Note: Besides the form itself, contestants must bring COPIES of all required documents that prove eligibility. We will not be able to make copies that day and we must have copies that we can keep and review.
