The Miss America Organization, the nation’s leading achievement program and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for women, has extended its trusted and celebrated 80-plus-year-old brand to include a national teen program, the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Program!
Miss District of Columbia’s Outstanding Teen is the face of the youth of the District of Columbia. She is a young lady who is proud to represent the Nation’s Capital both locally and nationally at the annual Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Florida.
The 2010 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held on August 28, 2010.
Miss District of Columbia’s Outstanding Teen is poised, intelligent and talented. She is committed to serving her community through volunteerism and is awarded an academic scholarship to assist her upon entering the college or university of her choice.
The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Organization is the “little sister” to the Miss America Organization. It is a scholarship-based program offering accomplished teens the opportunity to earn funds for college. The program promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens. In its five years of existence, the Organization has awarded more than $3 million in college scholarships.
Moreover, the Miss District of Columbia’s Outstanding Teen program has awarded to its state titleholders over $12,000.00 in cash and scholarships.
