Requirements
It need not cost a cent to compete in the Miss America program — all you need is commitment, perseverance, talent and ambition. To compete in the 2012 Miss District of Columbia Pageant, a contestant must meet the following requirements (please review carefully):
A contestant must be a U.S. citizen.
A contestant must have never been married.
A contestant must be born female.
A contestant must be a resident of the District of Columbia for at least six months preceding the date of the Miss DC pageant OR must have fulfilled eligibility requirements by educational status or employment.
A contestant must be between the ages of 17 and 24 years of age on December 31st of the year in which she is awarded the state title leading to participation in the National Finals of the Miss America Pageant. For the 2012 Miss DC pageant, contestants must be born after December 31, 1987.
A contestant must be at least a senior in high school at the time of the Miss DC pageant (not just a rising senior).
A contestant must have never performed any act or engaged in any activity or employment that is or could reasonably be characterized as immoral or indecent.
A contestant must never have been pregnant and is not now pregnant nor the adoptive parent of any child.
A contestant must never have been convicted of any crime and does not have any criminal charges pending.
A contestant must not use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous substances.
A contestant must be in good health and can participate fully and without limitation in any program activities.
In order to assure that the eligibility requirements are adequately met, you must bring this form and relevant documentation to March 17, 2012 auditions. Only after successfully providing this information will you be permitted to audition.
